In a 3-liter three-port flask with a reflux condenser tube, add 0.15kg (excess) of aluminum particles with a purity of 99%, 0.15g of anhydrous aluminum trichloride, and 1kg of sec-butyl acetate solvent. Then, add 0.33kg of sec-butyl alcohol, stir, heat, and control the solution temperature to about 100 ℃ for reflux reaction. After 2 hours, obtain a black solution containing a mixture of isobutyl alcohol and aluminum. Suck the material out, settle for 15 hours, and suck out the upper colorless transparent solution, This solution contains 30% aluminum sec-butanol, which is heated to 110 ℃ and begins distillation. As the sec-butyl acetate evaporates, the distillation temperature gradually increases. When it reaches 125 ℃, heating is stopped, and after cooling, the final product of aluminum sec-butanol is obtained, with metal and metal oxide impurities content below 0.01%. The evaporated sec-butyl acetate can be recycled.

In the above embodiments, without changing other conditions, only changing the addition amount of secondary butanol to 0.5 or 0.4kg can also complete the reaction and obtain the final product of secondary butanol aluminum.

In addition, the reaction can also be completed by simply changing the addition amount of anhydrous aluminum trichloride to 3g or 0.8g.
