Secondary butanol aluminum should not come into contact with oxidants, acidity, moisture, etc. It should be sealed and stored in a closed storage tank in a cool, dry place, and protected from direct sunlight. After opening, it must be used once and must not be exposed to the air for a long time.

2、 Preparation method of aluminum sec-butanol

Add 0.15 kilograms (excess) of 99% purity aluminum powder, 0.15 grams of anhydrous aluminum trichloride, and 1 kilogram of acetic acid sec-butyl ester solvent. Add 0.33 kilograms of sec-butyl alcohol, stir and heat to control the solution temperature at around 100 ℃, reflux, and after 2 hours, obtain a black mixture containing isobutyl alcohol aluminum. Extract and precipitate it for 15 hours. Extract a colorless transparent solution containing 30% of sec-butyl alcohol aluminum, and heat it to 110 ℃. The distillation temperature gradually increases, Until 125 ℃, cool to obtain secondary butanol aluminum.

Used as an active catalyst and carrier, inorganic film, reducing agent for aldehydes ketones, oxidizing agent for aldehydes ketones, gelling agent for ink and paint, fabric waterproofing agent, aluminum composite lubricating grease, etc.
