Today, the editor of Zhongtianli will talk to you about the methods we need to purify the products in order to obtain more pure isopropanol aluminum during the preparation process?
There are roughly three purification methods for aluminum isopropoxide:
(1) Vacuum distillation method,
This method is based on the low boiling point property of AIP, but because the boiling point of aluminum isopropoxide is higher than that of isopropanol, AIP can use vacuum distillation method.
(2) Meat extraction method,
This method is based on the fact that AIP can easily dissolve into organic solvents, while insoluble impurities will settle at the bottom of the container, and then inert gas will be introduced to filter out impurities and purify aluminum isopropoxide. This method enables some substances that cannot be purified through vacuum distillation to be purified, but the extraction method consumes a long time. Mass production cannot be achieved.
(3) Recrystallization method
This method adds AIP with high impurity content to a soluble organic solution, separates insoluble impurities from AIP through separation, and then crystallizes AIP through methods such as cooling, volatilization, and evaporation. IPA is left in the remaining saturated solution because it is not saturated, thus achieving the goal of purifying aluminum isopropoxide. The purification method of aluminum isopropoxide is usually achieved using the vacuum distillation method mentioned above. From the advantages, disadvantages, and purification principles of the above three methods, it can be concluded that the extraction method and recrystallization method are not suitable for purification processes in industrial production, while the vacuum distillation method is very suitable for industrial production of isopropanol aluminum.
In daily life, a common method is to prepare isopropanol aluminum using aluminum and isopropanol. In the entire process, distillation and purification devices play a significant role, and distillation reactors are undoubtedly important in distillation and purification devices. A well-designed distillation reactor can greatly increase the production of isopropanol aluminum.
