Aluminum oxide can be used as a desiccant and purifying agent. It has a wide range of uses, and is commonly used in industries such as oxygen production, textile industry, electronics industry, abrasive, ceramics, glaze, gemstones, refractory material manufacturing, etc. However, what impact can it bring to these industries? Today, the editor of Yangzhou Zhongtianli will first talk to you about the impact of alumina in ceramic materials?

Compared to ordinary high alumina bauxite fillers, calcined alumina fillers have good thermal stability, high whiteness, high purity, uniform particle size, and are more suitable for use as fillers in ceramic materials due to their simple processing. General industrial ceramics require a relatively low Na2O content, and excessive impurities are not allowed to be added to it, which affects the molding and quality of the ceramics. In this regard, the calcined alumina method is undoubtedly superior to other fillers.

In the traditional kiln calcination process, due to the external high temperature, a large part of impurities have been evaporated, and additives have been added during the mixing process before calcination, which helps to remove impurities and improve product conversion rate, reducing the impurities contained inside. It is beneficial for the production and quality control of ceramic manufacturers.

During the calcination process, boric acid is added as an additive to industrial alumina raw materials. Under high temperature conditions in the kiln, boric acid reacts with Na2O to produce volatile substances, significantly reducing the Na2O content in the calcination solution and increasing the conversion rate.

The industrial production of high-purity and low-cost sintered alumina fillers has been achieved for the first time. XRD and spectral analysis methods were used to analyze the effects of the amount and method of adding boric acid on reducing Na2O. The results showed that the nanoparticles made of industrial alumina materials had good adsorption performance, and the method of adding boric acid in aqueous solution had better removal efficiency for Na2O. Adopting the corundum calcination process and adding an appropriate amount of alumina as a filler, its initial viscosity is small, its lifespan is long, and its performance is stable.

The above is the role of alumina in the ceramic material industry shared by the editor of Yangzhou Zhongtianli. Yangzhou Zhongtianli focuses on producing isopropanol aluminum, isopropanol aluminum trimer, secondary butanol aluminum, pseudo boehmite, high-purity arsenic, and high-purity alumina, serving various industries and has wide recognition.
